Chief Strategy Development Officer- Naval Shipbuilding

We have partnered with a pioneering organization which has been established as part of the Vison 2030 Strategic Initiative to grow the Maritime Sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Our customer will lead the development of maritime regulatory infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a clear strategic objective to become the world's largest defense and commercial shipbuilder.

Job Purpose:

  • The role involves overseeing legal matters, risk management, governance, and compliance activities. Additionally, the candidate will ensure effective management of cybersecurity and data systems at Naval, while maintaining business continuity and compliance standards.

  • We seek a candidate with a defense background who has experience managing business lifecycles, from inception through manufacturing to delivery of defense and naval vessels.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Align function goals, processes, and resource allocation with the organizational strategy while maintaining awareness of commercial and business objectives

  • Ensure the accomplishment of organizational unit objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating organizational unit activities.

  • Define objectives, identifies, and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of action, and evaluates outcomes.

  • Provide professional guidance in the areas of legal, risk, governance and compliance to and for the Company.

  • Support with strategic problems resolution and subjective decision making. Managerial Responsibilities

  • Supervise the entire work done by the team members and making sure it is completed on time without any delay.

  • Lead the team to complete tasks and meet goals through delegation of responsibilities and supervising business operations.

  • Set the vision and motivation of the team in order to achieve the sought objectives efficiently. • Set appropriate and achievable deadlines.

  • Track and report critical organizational unit performance results and escalate and negotiate business related issues to senior management.

  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

 Functional Responsibilities:

  • Direct strategic planning and execution, actively participating in defining organizational objectives and adapting strategies to stay ahead of evolving market trends.

  • Take charge of business development, thoroughly identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities while expertly managing the entire sales and proposal process.

  • Oversee a culture of organizational excellence, driving efficiency improvements and fostering an innovative environment that ensures sustained competitiveness.

  • Manage strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships with a deep focus on advancing business objectives and facilitating productive collaborations.

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and leverage data analysis to derive actionable insights, empowering informed decision-making.

  • Ensure detailed project management practices, carefully allocating resources, and carefully monitoring project progress to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Foster and sustain strategic partnerships and alliances, negotiating and nurturing agreements that bolster the organization's competitive advantage.

  • Collaborate with function leaders to formulate and manage budgets and resources, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, driving ongoing advancements throughout the organization.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Educational Requirements bachelor’s degree in business administration, Strategy, or any similar field.

  • Professional Experience 18-20 years and above in a related field including 10 years in a leadership role.

  • Preferred Requirements Master’s Degree in Business Management (MBA) or any similar field.
