NBR (New Build Rigs) Production Engineer (Coating)
Our client is looking for an experienced production coating engineer to assist with all coating work on recently constructed rigs, ensure that painting operations meet all project requirements, and ensure that projects are finished on time and safely.
Key Accountabilities:
Supervise and monitor the progress of painting works in enclosed and open areas. To ensure paint standards are as per approved project specifications.
Liaise with paint vendor and client representatives for all necessary planning and on-site coordination.
Contribute ways to mitigate reworks for painting. To plan sequence of painting works to be time and cost effective.
To establish manpower as per project schedule requirements and to plan for all equipment and facilities required to execute works.
Have weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors.
Possess strong initiative around decision making and ability to conceptualize plans and technical solutions to deal with a wide array of standard and innovative construction issues.
Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify management team of schedule and performance issues, be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance.
Should possess strong knowledge and understanding of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements and ensure the same is communicated to the project team on a regular basis.
Identify the work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze the work problems in writing with own problem-solving mentality, accurate supervision, decision-maker with a strong convincing personality, full readiness with 'Plan B' for any unexpected issues.
Fully responsible for delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR’s) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating to the foreman and chargehands. This must be approached with a high focus on interfacing and coordination with all other discipline supervision to remove all blocks from achieving target dates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Engineering Degree or equivalent.
Certification in the related field (is a plus)
At least 9 - 12 years of experience in shipyard and preferably involved in offshore activities and/or rig building.
Experienced in handling rig building and similar offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.
