Piping Designer
Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Piping Designer to join the Engineering team in the oil and gas industry. As a Piping Designer II, you will play a crucial role in supporting piping engineering discipline and ensuring compliance with safety standards and company requirements.
Responsibilities
Actively supports the Safety Vision of ARO, and the Engineering commitment to Safety.
Assist all discipline Engineers & Engineering Manager in solving engineering designs and analysis problems.
Conduct site visits to create as built/ proposal drawings and support execution team.
Develop 2D, 3D and isometric drawing for the engineering discipline.
Prepare the Engineering drawings in AutoCAD 2D and 3D models.
Perform QA/QC checks on Engineering drawings to ensure compliance with ARO’s standards and requirements.
Preparation of design proposals along with material take off.
Provides support to operations, project, and marketing teams in response to design inquires.
Liaise with Class and flag as necessary, prepare engineering proposal and drawings in compliance with Class and Flag requirements, assist discipline engineers in obtaining approval from Class and Flag
Prepare as-built drawings for modifications made to rigs.
Create new drawings for various projects by providing initial concept & multi proposals.
Liaise with rig and operational personnel to obtain necessary information needed to develop and complete any changes.
The position requires the individual to travel to various rigs operating offshore.
Familiar with the offshore jack-ups layout and marine operations manual.
Ability to apply expertise knowledge and to provide innovative engineering solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with emphasis on design/math courses with experience in oil and gas industry drafting & trigonometry.
Designer II: 3 - 5 years of experience in the same field.
